Turandot is an opera composed by Giacomo Puccini, based on a Persian story from the collection One Thousand and One Nights. It tells the story of Princess Turandot who challenges suitors to solve three riddles or be put to death. The prince Calaf successfully solves the riddles, but Turandot still refuses to marry him. Calaf offers Turandot a challenge of his own, which eventually leads to her falling in love with him.
